Transition & Activation Planning
Ensuring a Smooth Transition to Full Operations
Opening a new healthcare facility demands strong logistical coordination, project management, and planning. We choreograph the intricate dance between function and form that requires a multidisciplinary teamwork centered on collaboration between the owner, its stakeholders, and the transition team.
With robust, multi-faceted activation planning, Symphonie Consulting supports the smooth transition from facility construction to full operations. We help clients achieve the desired patient experience for Day 1 operations – built upon strategic alignment, workflow redesign, logistical coordination, communication, and collaboration.
KEY DELIVERABLE: Comprehensive Transition & Activation Plan
CONSULTING PROJECT DURATION: 9-18 Months (depending on scope)
Our Approach
Symphonie approaches Transition & Activation Planning as a two-step process for a new healthcare facility.
- Transition Planning (TP) is foundational work done to prepare to operate the new facility. Occurring while construction is underway, TP typically begins 12-15 months before opening and serves as the precursor to facility activation.
- Activation Planning (AP) occurs once building construction is complete, as agreed upon by the contractor and owner. AP typically begins 3-4 months before the anticipated opening.
During the TP and AP phases, Symphonie utilizes Lean Six Sigma methodology and change management tools to lead the planning work across multiple dimensions and work stream. Other associated services include:
